IMPROVEMENTS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Improvements:
Bank Barn
The barn is a two story, bank type structure, 40' x 58', with one drive in floor and two hay mows. It has a metal roof. The upper level of the barn has been has been modernized with large windows and with additional floors added above the mow floors and the drive in area, creating a large amount of additional storage space.

Blacksmith Forge:
This building is a one story log structure, 15' x 20'. It was reconstructed on the property after having been moved from the present site of the Lake Raystown Visitor's Center.

Print Shop:
This building is also a 1 story log structure, measuring 16' x 19'. It has an 1 1/4 inch oak floor.

Astronomical Observatory:
This is a concrete block structure with an average dimension of 23' x 30'. It was constructed in 1978, and it includes a dark room.

Additional Information:
This farm offers a very nice, semi private, semi secluded setting. It is easily accessed. The following are approximate travel distances to various central PA communities: State College - 23 miles, Huntingdon - 13 miles, Altoona - 25 miles, Tyrone - 15 miles. This property is also conveniently located for traveling to Lake Raystown in Huntingdon County.

The dwelling has a large, roofed and carpeted deck area (Approximately 20' x 30' + 10' x 11') complete with a cook top range and a fireplace which can also be used to cook on. Underneath the deck is a large carport area.

There is a significant amount of public road frontage. A small stream flows through the property. Also, there is a small amount of frontage on the adjacent state game lands.

The dwelling is not a "typical" dwelling with respect to the room arrangement. This is an ideal property, though, for a small family, or for use by a hunting club or for a corporate type retreat property. It is a highly unusual home with an indoor fish pond, an atrium, and a solarium. It also has several stained glass windows.

The range, microwave, and refrigerator are included with the property, as well as a washer and dryer. There are display cases which presently separate the first floor office/bedroom area into individual rooks, but they could be removed to create a very large family room or sleeping area.

The previous sellers (the Zabriskies) graciously wrote a history about the buildings on the property. Please click on the link below if you wish to have more detailed information about the buildings.
